A computer running Windows 10 doesn’t suddenly stop working because support has
ended. However, support status matters when you’re deciding how to keep using the
device.

Microsoft ended Windows 10 support on **October 14, 2025**. Standard software and
security updates and technical assistance are no longer provided for Windows 10.
Microsoft says eligible devices may be able to use its Extended Security Updates
programme, or users may consider moving to a supported operating system or device.

### Check your computer before making a decision

Before upgrading, buying a new computer or continuing to use the device, find out:

 * Which Windows version and edition is installed?
 * Is the computer eligible for a supported upgrade?
 * Will your essential programs and accessories still work?
 * Do you have a backup of your important files?
 * What will each option cost?

A computer’s age alone doesn’t tell you whether it can be upgraded. Its specifications
and condition matter. If it can’t run a supported system, it may be time to weigh
other options—such as a refurbished device—against your needs and budget.

### Use properly licensed software

Kagiso Online installs properly licensed operating systems, not cracked copies.
We can also help you understand your device’s options and the risks of continuing
to rely on an unsupported system.
